Kilkenny County Council Library Service is delighted to announce the launch of an exciting new Maker-in-Residence programme at Mayfair Library, running from May to August 2026. The new Maker-in-residence is Arran Quigley. Arran is a multi-disciplinary freelance artist, designer, and creator with over 15 years of experience in design and fabrication. He is working closely with library staff to develop a rich and engaging programme and establish a vibrant and sustainable makerspace at Mayfair Library. The initiative supports both technical development and creative expression, encouraging the growth of a diverse maker community with Mayfair library at its centre. A key aim of the programme is to cultivate a welcoming and supportive environment which will cover areas such as 3D printing, coding, and digital design.
Kilkenny County Council Library Service Maker in Residence is supported by The Creative Ireland Programme, an all-of-government five-year initiative, from 2023 to 2027, which places creativity at the centre of public policy.
