Let your creativity run wild by personalizing your sneakers. Join Olga and decorate your sneakers with ribbons and beads.

This is a creative and fun workshop; all you have to do is bring your own sneakers and play with beads and colours.

For children age 9-11yrs, booking essential.

If you’ve ever wanted to learn how to draw, now’s your chance! John Carpenter will be sharing his vast knowledge during this two-workshop course. All participants must attend on both dates (10th & 17th August).

Booking for this course will open in July.

Join Olga for an adult crochet session. This time we'll make a summer bracelet. It's an easy and pretty project, but for this workshop, you should know at least the basic crochet stitches.

Participants should bring their own materials.

Join us with your baby to meet other children and their guardians to socialise and connect with others in the library setting. Storytime will be scheduled from time to time at the baby meetup, otherwise it is a mingle session and a chance to meet and chat with others and their babies!

Join Anyone 4 Science to learn about Bee habitats and make a Bee House for your garden at this Summer Stars Dalkey Library event.

Ages 8 and over (booking essential).

Early Years Music Workshop (Ages 3–6, with parent/guardian accompaniment)

Have fun together as a family testing your creativity and knowledge of physics. Each team begins with a code-enabled RubbleBot chassis then dives into a treasure pile of recycled materials to design and build a one-of-a-kind robot. Using cardboard, bottle tops, balloons, feathers, CDs, and more, families work together to create a fun, battle-worthy bot. Teams drive their creations in the arena using very simple JavaScript code, taking on a series of entertaining challenges. (No coding knowledge necessary)

At least one participating adult required for each team. Only suitable for children aged 6 years and over.

One ticket = one team of at least one adult and up to 4 children over 6 years of age. Do not book a ticket for each individual participant.

Colour in a lobster and other sea creatures in the quiet comfort of our meeting room, creating your own seaside masterpieces in a calm and welcoming space. While the festival buzzes outside and crowds fill the streets, the library offers a tranquil retreat and from the front window you can soak up the atmosphere of the Lobster Festival without leaving the serenity of the meeting room to the front of the library.
