A Celebration of the horse in Dublin and the evidence left behind.
A social history talk by Historian, Cathy Scuffil at the Central Library.
The sight and sounds of horses and their owners on the streets of inner city Dublin is the present-day continuation of a long history associated with horses, their care and welfare as well as a range of associated trades and industries. As with so much of the rich history and heritage in Dublin, evidence such as, architecture, placenames, street furniture and artefacts of this history often hide in plain sight waiting for us to find. Join Cathy Scuffil as she explores this history, highlighting the past importance of the horse in the development of Dublin today.
