Who do you think your ancestors were? Workshop on the 1926 Census

13 May 2026 - 11:00 AM to 12:00 PMKildare Leixlip
Event
From April 2026, the 1926 Census will be made freely available and fully searchable online. This census, the first taken of the Irish Free State, offers a unique, invaluable snapshot of life for your ancestors exactly 100 years ago. For the public, gaining access to this major historical data will provide the building blocks for family history research, allowing you to discover the names, relationships, occupations, and locations of your ancestors. It will also help as a crucial resource for social research, providing a detailed look at the demographics of the newly formed state.

James and Carl will host a workshop on getting the most out of this new resource in Leixlip Community Library.

It is essential to bring your own tablet or laptop.

Limited places, booking essential.
